Positive Power of Principled Profit, April 2009
–> Exciting News: Principled Profit Blog Wins Its Third Award in A Month!
I’ve been blogging on the intersections of media, marketing, ethics, politics, and sustainability since 2004, at http://www.principledprofit.com/good-business-blog/ And all of a sudden, people are starting to notice! Beginning March 14, I’ve been notified that my blog has won three different awards! If you want to see what the fuss is about, go visit the blog. You can even sign up to hear about new posts through either RSS or e-mail. Now on to this month’s profile.
–> Positive Power Spotlight: RegionalBest.com
It’s still Passover, so I’m thinking perhaps more than usual about food. Recently, I saw an ad for RegionalBest.com on last month’s profiled business, HARO, and when I clicked over, I very much liked what I saw… click here to continue reading.
–> Another Recommended Book: The Heart of Marketing
The Heart of Marketing: Love Your Customers and They Will Love You Back, by Judith Sherven, Ph.D. and Jim Sniechowski, Ph.D. (Morgan James, 2009). Would you run the same ad in the New Yorker and the National Enquirer? I sure wouldn’t! I’m a long-time believer in matching audience, offer, and message, and that includes tone. Yet so many Internet marketers… click here to continue reading.
–> When I spoke at Willie Crawford’s conference in Orlando last week, I almost skipped the weight loss and body image session given by Laura Fenamore. I’m so glad I went after all! She has a very fresh approach, rooted not in diet or exercise or “shoulds” but in empowerment, positive attitude, and self-esteem–an approach that came out of her own troubled adolescence in an abusive family, but which she was able to channel into this deep and wonderful place. In fact, I was so impressed that I signed up as an affiliate. See for yourself at http://www.itsnotaboutdieting.com/
–> In these tough times, I want to do my part. I’ve just released some things to save you money: A brand new e-book called Painless Green: 111 Tips to Help the Environment, Lower Your Carbon Footprint, Cut Your Budget, and Improve Your Quality of Life—With No Negative Impact on Your Lifestyle, http://www.painlessgreenbook.com – and a website where you can get that e-book and all my books at a discount: http://www.RecessionBusterBooks.com
–> Friends Who Want to Help, April 2009
- Speakers, Authors, Consultants, Coaches, Experts, Entrepreneurs, CEO’s- SPEAKERS’ SUMMIT ‘09 – THE PINNACLE, May 1-3 in LA Over the last seventeen years Speaker Services has trained and showcased thousands of speakers, always presenting leading edge experts, while introducing state-of-the-art resources. - Now Available! BE THE MEDIA features more than 500 pages with over fifty media experts, educators, and activists (such as David Mathison and Alex Mandossian) who teach you the latest and greatest ways to market and sell your books, music, films, information products and services. The book includes more than 500 pages of material to help you control your rights, have a direct relationship with your audience, and earn more royalties. http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=955449
- Need a product to sell? If you’ve been around the Internet marketing world for any time at all, you’ve come across 1ShoppingCart.com and all its rebranded variations. Many of the gurus use this software to run their downloadable e-products, their autoresponders, newsletters, etc. The programmer who created 1shoppingcart is George Tran, and George has just released “The Social Marketing Manifesto,” a very well-written, well-thought-out, and well-researched 154-page e-book that helps you quickly understand the culture of social media networks, has great advice for how to monetize, and reviews numerous tools to set up your own social media network and/or participate more effectively on existing platforms. It retails for $29.97, but I’m offering it for just $18.95. AND you get full resale rights! I have to tell you, I’ve not been impressed with the quality of a lot of the private-label-resale-rights info products out there, but this one is a gem. And one of the things I really like about it is that it’s aimed at (and useful to) both business and nonprofits, and there’s a lot of really good stuff specifically for nonprofits from someone who deeply understands that business model.
